Job Description: Seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow with a background in Molecular Biology to assist in the development of new products and technologies including recombinant antibody generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, researching and implementing recombinant DNA approaches to support research team needs, as well as designing workflows, and assay development. Additional projects will also include development of novel applications for animal byproducts.


Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
 

Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning methodologies, including vector and primer design.

Knowledge of tissue culture and mammalian cell transfection procedures.

Ability to communicate clearly, and to report and present experimental results and analysis to colleagues and collaborators.

Self-motivated, independent, and results oriented.

Ability to work effectively as a team player in a complex, changing environment.

Experience with protein and/or antibody purification highly desirable


Requirements:

Prepare and process biological samples including immune cell isolation

Perform PCR, Plasmid construction and DNA /RNA isolation

Maintain and archive DNA clones, and bacterial glycerol stocks

Culturing, maintaining, and characterizing primary mammalian cells and cell lines

Transfecting cell-lines and/or primary cells

Phenotypic analysis of mammalian cells using western blot, flow cytometry and FACS analysis

Compiling data to support/contribute to technical reports

Develop an expanding technical and theoretical knowledge base in molecular biology with a growing understanding of the scientific literature in relevant areas of research

Maintain familiarity with literature to propose and implement improved procedures and protocols, and to aid in problem solving

Follow and adhere to SOPs and laboratory safety regulations


Education:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related scientific field.

 

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working in the lab.

•Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. 

•Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

 

Working Conditions:

Conditions inside the office is generally quiet, periodically there may be mid-level noise from various equipment when traveling to other facilities.

Scope of Responsibility:
To prepare raw, intermediate, or final products in accordance with client specifications and/or Lampire work orders with the goal of providing consistent, high quality products and services to our customers with complete, accurate documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Requirements:
Qualifications based upon education, resume and/or work experience.

  • Good oral and written communication skills (English) and mathematics skills are required.
  • Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations
  • Ability to use a calculator, balances, and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to use light and heavy material handling equipment and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for simple maintenance of equipment desirable.
  • Ability to give directions, train others and communicate effectively.


Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare formulations and products according to established batch records and work orders.
  • Maintain lot number, batch, and equipment logbooks in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform on-line inspection of components/product and immediately notify supervisor of any problems.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of inventory records.
  • Order inventory and supply items as needed.
  • Ensure that all operations are in compliance with existing procedures, manufacturing work instructions, and GMPs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of working area.
  • Observe safety regulations and practices.
  • Use good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain excellent in-house customer relations with all functions.
  • Assist in the cross-training of manufacturing technician(s).
  • Assist in other manufacturing operations as required.

 


Education:
Associate’s degree or B.S. (preferred) in relevant field.  Equivalent work experience or High School Technology program will also be considered.

Summary Objective:
Care of animals including feeding, cleaning, treatment and preventive medicine. Daily production and maintaining the animal areas of the facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Animal care AM/PM daily
  • Complete daily production which may include injections, bleeding, milking etc.

  • Document findings and job completions in the required logs

 

Competency:

  • Animal Science degree or 4 or more years of animal related experience.
  • The ability to lift or move up to 50lbs or more on a regular basis.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extremes in temperature, and occasionally farm equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can vary from minimal to loud.

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this individual is to maintain the overall health and well-being of the animals. This position will be responsible for the weekend and holiday care including feeding, administering treatments, verifying and administering injections when required, and cleaning and maintaining the anima colonies as well as the feed storage area.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Feeding, watering, and administering treatments, including observing and reporting any signs of disease/illness and help to treat minor cases of such findings
• Responsible for completing accurate reports documentation records including maintenance sheet, room temperature log, animal treatments, and animal inventory
• Responsible for keeping accurate inventory of supplies needed
